Who We Are

Wendy M. Bowen
Founder & CEO
Wendy M. Bowen leads Family Options Supervised Visitation, where she creates calm, structured spaces for children and parents to stay connected when life feels hardest. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: families deserve safety, dignity, and a chance to rebuild without fear or judgment.
Wendy’s path to this work began long before Family Options. As a certified mediator, guardian ad litem, and now the managing attorney of Lighthouse Family Law, she has spent her career standing beside families in transition. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston, a Juris Doctor from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College, and is pursuing her Doctorate in Law and Policy—each step deepening her understanding of what children and parents truly need during uncertain times.
Her approach to supervised visitation blends structure with compassion and clarity with warmth. She is an active member of the South Carolina Bar Family Law Council, the South Carolina Black Lawyers Association, the National Association of Counsel for Children, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, and the American Bar Association, and she proudly represents Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Beyond her work with families, Wendy writes for women seeking strength and renewal. Her books, Hey Sis! Alone, Not Lonely and Hey Sis! Save Yourself, Not That Relationship, reflect the same message she brings to every family she serves: healing is possible, and worth is non-negotiable.

Alongside her work with Family Options, she is also a paralegal for Lighthouse Family Law, LLC in Columbia, South Carolina. Her background in supervised visitation, family law, and child advocacy gives her a strong understanding of the needs of the families she supports.

Neyoka also serves as the Office Assistant and Billing Consultant for Lighthouse Family Law, LLC. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina, with a Minor in African American Studies. During her time as a Gamecock, she was deeply involved in community service and outreach through the Psi Eta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated—work that shaped her commitment to care, dignity, and service.
Her warmth and dedication help families feel grounded during moments that can otherwise feel uncertain. Outside of her professional roles, Neyoka is an artist at heart. She loves to paint, crochet, and express herself through creative projects, and she plans to pursue a master’s degree in Black Psychology to deepen her work with children and families.
